Sounness Park complex stage one being the clubhouse and refurbished football/soccer oval was opened by Tuck Waldron MP on 9th May 2015. It is a state of the art facility able to host national sporting events, which was showcased when Sounness Park hosted a 2016 NAB Football preseason game Fremantle Dockers vs Adelaide Crows with Dockers winning by 2 points!
The Sounness Park Recreation Facility is located within walking distance of the town centre of Mount Barker, is wheelchair friendly with generous parking at 150 McDonald Avenue. The central clubhouse is the heart of the complex, which is surrounded by three playing fields being; football/soccer oval, cricket/soccer oval and synthetic hockey field.
Public toilets are located at the entrance of the park 100m from the ticket booth.

The following areas of the Sounness Park Club House are available to the general public for hire:
Function Room
This space is prefect for a sit down and cocktail style event featuring high ceilings and opening floor to ceiling windows overlooking the three playing fields. Combined with the option of hiring the kitchen and/or bar the 200sqm function room has wheelchair access, wooden dance floor, audio visual equipment, restrooms, an outdoor pre-function space and children’s playground. Linen is not included, seating and kitchen equipt for 150 guests with options to hire additional seating.
Meeting Room
Located opposite the Function Room in the Sounness Park Club House this cosy meeting room seats 10 people and has its own fully equipped kitchenette.
Kitchen
Large commercial kitchen fully equipped with a large cool room, and accessed via the Function Room, Bar, and rear carpark side. An additional roller door servery window opens to the football field side veranda.
Bar
Fully equipped bar opens onto function centre with access via the kitchen and rear carpark side. There is a list of qualified Bar Managers and Bar Persons with RSA.
An extra cleaning charge may be applied to facility hirers.
